Skincare Forum runs anonymous analytics only: no ads, no tracking cookies, no profiles. If you email us, we use your address to reply and for nothing else.

What do we collect?

Aggregate, anonymous page analytics via Google Analytics 4, and nothing you do not send us yourself.

We use analytics to understand which guides get read. We do not build user profiles, run advertising, or sell data. If you email hello@skincare.forum, we keep the thread to answer you.

What do we never collect?

No accounts, no forms, no payment data, and no photos except the one you explicitly submit to the optional skin analysis.

This site has no login and no checkout. Browsing, reading and taking the quiz send nothing about your face, skin or routine anywhere: quiz answers never leave your browser.

How does the free skin analysis handle my photo?

Resized in your browser (stripping location and camera metadata), sent encrypted, analyzed by Google Gemini, and stored privately for up to 2 years. Used in anonymous form to improve the service; never sold. Deletion available on request by email.

The skin analysis is strictly opt-in and works like this, in order: your browser resizes and re-encodes the photo before upload, which removes EXIF metadata such as GPS location; the image travels encrypted and is held in private storage under a random photo ID; it is sent to Google's Gemini API to produce your reading, and the result is released to you after you provide an email address, which we store together with your photo ID to send your plan and occasional updates (unsubscribe anytime). No IP address is stored with your photo.

Retention and use. Your photo is retained securely for up to 2 years and then deleted automatically. During that time it may be used in anonymous form to improve this service, for example evaluating and improving the quality of the analysis. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and shared only with the service providers that technically power the feature (Google's analysis API, Cloudflare's storage and compute), each acting as a processor. Photos the analysis declines or fails on are retained the same way as accepted ones, because they are exactly what we study to fix the analysis, with one strict exception: any image flagged as appearing to show a person under 18 is deleted immediately and never retained.

Deletion on request. You may request deletion of your photo and associated data at any time by emailing hello@skincare.forum, preferably from the email address you provided when viewing your results, so we can locate your submission. Verified requests are completed promptly and confirmed by reply. Do not upload photos of other people or of anyone under 18. This page reflects current practice and is updated whenever the practice changes.
